Ardent Connections

This series of abstract paintings is derived from the landscape, and in a sense, going to the roots of nature and the roots of my painting. Having always been passionate about nature and the landscape, I wanted to express my love for it through the gentleness of the paint and light. I have recreated my own intense connections between my language of abstraction and my perception of the landscape. I love the sense of the meditative quality when I paint and I believe this series is a testimony to that. The work contains passages that are at their most contemplative while at the same time most energized. Another connection is between the surfaces of my paintings as it varies from being the roughest to the softest of paint movement.
